we're closing at 5p on tuesday, august 26th, for team training. sorry for any inconvenience!
We typically have 4-12 kittens available for adoption grouped by the litters we got them in. Ask our staff if you don't see an online cat in the lounge - they may be adopted, quarantined, or taking a break from humans in another room.
Note that we do not hold or reserve cats before in-person visits. Due to space limitations and the constraints of our online booking system, we kindly ask that you book one appointment for each person in your group (including each child).

If you want to adopt or haven't had a cat before, we strongly recommend you attend one of our free weekly Cats 101 workshops (coming soon) and fill out our adoption application before your visit.
Stop by or book a cat room appointment ($10 per person for 25 minutes) to meet a cat! Appointments and adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. We do not hold or reserve cats before in-person visits. Due to space limitations and the constraints of our online booking system, we kindly ask that you book one appointment for each person in your group.
Let a staff member know if you meet a cat you want to adopt and we'll share or confirm we've received an adoption application. It takes a few business days to review your application.
Once reviewed and approved, we'll contact you to book an adoption appointment to meet with us to answer questions, collect our $200 adoption fee (per cat), and take home your new cat.
We'll follow up a week after your adoption appointment to see how things are going. Note that we offer free monthly Cat Trouble support groups (coming soon) to help new cat owners address common issues with cats at home.
All of our cats are adopted with the following unless it would risk the cat's health:
Veterinary physical exam and care plan
Disease testing (including FIV and FRV)
FVCRP immunizations
De-worming treatments
Rabies vaccine (after 12 weeks)
Donation to their original shelter
One blanket from the litter
One toy from the litter
Some cats also come to us spayed/neutered and microchipped. We follow our vet's personalized healthcare protocols for each cat.
Some cats may have temporarily shaved hair patches, topical medications, or surgical markings as a result of veterinary care.
We partner with local farms and animal shelters to re-home the cats at our cafe, including:
Humane Society of Washington County (Hagerstown, MD)
Berkeley County Humane Society (Martinsburg, WV)
Mercer County Animal Shelter (Princeton, WV)
The Humane Society of Harford County (Fallston, MD)
We take in cats when shelters are near or over capacity. Our adoption fees cover each animal's medical care, boarding, and transportation for those organizations and our own. We're also saving up for an annual grant program to help these organizations fund larger-scale projects.
Please do not surrender stray animals to Affogatto. While we strictly follow Maryland adoption policies, we aren't licensed or equipped to intake and provide care for stray animals. We recommend the Maryland SPCA, Baltimore County Government, or Googling local resources on animal surrenders.
