find a little joy with kittens
we typically have 4–12 kittens available for adoption, grouped by the litters they arrived with. if you don’t see a specific cat listed online or in the lounge, feel free to ask our staff — they may have already been adopted, be in quarantine, or simply taking a break from humans in another room.
please note that we’re unable to hold or reserve cats prior to an in-person visit. because of space limitations and the way our booking system works, we kindly ask that you book one appointment for each person in your group, including each child.

*we had a jar on the bar for guests to suggest names for the cats while they waited for their coffee
the most popular suggestion was, by far, Kevin, so we decided to name an entire litter "kevin"
kevin kevin
kevin mcallister
kevin up
litter 038 - sister sister
tia
tamara
litter 039 - gravity falls
dipper

where do you get the names?
thank you for all of your name suggestions! over the course of one month, we received 487 name ideas in our bartop cat name suggestion jar. the most suggested names were:
kevin
pickle (including pickles and mr. pickle)
(tied) mochi, bean, ruby, rose, miso
(tied) olive, edgar, mango, waffles, kirby, poppy, river, scone, piper, and blade
we love getting the community involved in naming our kittens and can’t wait to share which names make their way onto collars next.

all of our cats are adopted with the following unless it would risk the cat's health:
veterinary physical exam and care plan
FIV and FeLV blood testing
FVCRP immunizations
de-worming treatments
rabies vaccine (after 12 weeks)
donation to their original shelter
one toy and blanket from the litter
most of our cats are spayed/neutered and microchipped. we follow our vet's personalized healthcare protocols for each cat.
some cats may have temporarily shaved hair patches, topical medications, or surgical markings as a result of veterinary care.
we partner with regional animal shelters to re-home the cats at our cafe, including:
Humane Society of Washington County (hagerstown, md)
The Humane Society of Harford County (fallston, md)
Frederick County Humane Society (frederick, md)
Baltimore Humane Society (reisterstown, md)
we take in cats when shelters are near or over capacity. our adoption fees cover each animal's medical care, boarding, and transportation for those organizations and our own. we're also saving up for an annual grant program to help these organizations fund larger-scale projects.
please do not surrender stray animals to affogatto.
while we strictly follow Maryland adoption policies, we aren't licensed or equipped to intake and provide care for stray animals.
we recommend the Maryland SPCA, Baltimore County Government, or googling local resources on animal surrenders.
